RESOLUTION NO.: 2020-001
PARTICIPATION IN CONSOLIDADTED BAS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Berlin, Alabama, has convened a regular meeting at 7:00 PM on the 27th day of January, 2020;
AND WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts the Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) annually to collect information about changes to municipal boundaries;
AND WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau offers Consolidated BAS (CBAS) agreements to counties that are interested in submitting boundary changes for the municipalities within their jurisdiction;
AND WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau recognizes that Cullman County has an existing CBAS agreement;
AND WHEREAS, the Revenue Commissioner of Cullman County maintains detailed maps of municipal boundaries based on annexation filings made with the Probate Court of Cullman County;
BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Berlin, in the State of Alabama, that the Town of Berlin authorizes the Revenue Commissioner of Cullman County to respond on our behalf to BAS requests under the existing CBAS agreement.
