RESOULTION NO.:2022-010
A RESOLUTION CORRECTING SCRIVENER’S ERROR IN CERTAIN TOWN OF BERLIN ORDINANCES
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin, Alabama as follows:
WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin declared and adopted, on or about 20 June 2022,
Ordinance No. 2022-005 to prescribe and establish licenses for the privilege of engaging in or
carrying on business, occupations, vocations, and professions within the Town of Berlin,
Alabama for calendar year 2022 and each subsequent year thereafter.
WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin declared and adopted, on or about 19 September 2022,
Ordinance No. 2022-005 annexing territory into the corporate limits of the Town of Berlin,
Alabama pursuant to the provisions of 11-42-21, Code of Alabama 1975, with said Ordinance
being for Cheryl Hawkins.
WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin declared and adopted, on or about 19 September 2022,
Ordinance No. 2022-006 annexing territory into the corporate limits of the Town of Berlin,
Alabama pursuant to the provisions of 11-42-21, Code of Alabama 1975, with said Ordinance
being for Ruby Jean Evans, Beunka Evans-Newton, Becky Duke Evans, and Sandra June Hill.
WHEREAS, it appears that a scrivener’s error was made in the numbering of the
aforementioned ordinances, which needs to be reformed.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin that the error in numbering the aforementioned ordinances was that of the scrivener, and furthermore, a mistake.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin, that the aforementioned ordinances shall be reformed as follows:
The 19 September 2022, Ordinance No. 2022-005 annexing territory into the corporate
limits of the Town of Berlin, Alabama pursuant to the provisions of 11-42-21, Code of Alabama
1975, with said Ordinance being for Cheryl Hawkins, shall hereafter be reflected as Ordinance
No. 2022-007.
BE IT FURTHRE RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin, that the Town Clerk shall file a
certified copy of this Resolution with the Judge of Probate, Cullman County, Alabama, and also
cause a copy of this Resolution to be published in a newspaper of general circulation and/or
posted.
