Regular Meeting
The Town Council of the Town of Berlin met in regular session on this date and time following publication and posting pursuant to Alabama law.
- Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. at the Berlin Town Hall.
- Invocation – Councilman James Sanford.
- Pledge of Allegiance – Mayor Patrick Bates.
- Roll call by Town Clerk Keirstyn Montgomery. Councilman Donald Gunter, not present.
- Mayor Patrick Bates asked for public comments. There were none.
- Approval of minutes from January 16, 2022, Regular Meeting. Motion to approve made by Councilman James Sanford. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 5-0.
- Council discussed the 2023 Berlin Farmers Market. Motion to approve 2023 Berlin Farmers Market Rules & Regulations made by Councilman James Sanford. Second made by Keith Hardman. Approved 5-0.
- Council discussed bid specs for B2023-001 BUSH HOGGING AND MOWING OF TOWN PROPERTY.
- Mayor Patrick Bates presented RESOLUTION # 2023-002 SICK LEAVE CONVERSION. Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve RESOLUTION # 2023-002 SICK LEAVE CONVERSION. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 5-0.
- Mayor Patrick Bates presented RESOLUTION # 2023-003 – A RESOLUTION TO REDUCE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA, AND THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF REESTABLISHED. Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve RESOLUTION # 2023-003 – A RESOLUTION TO REDUCE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA, AND THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF REESTABLISHED. Second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Approved 5-0.
- Council discussed ORDINANCE # 2023-001 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF 11-42-21, CODE OF ALABAMA 1975. Tabled until next Regular Meeting due to having no quorum.
- Council discussed ORDINANCE # 2023-002 – TO AMEND SCHEDULE F OF ORDINANCE 2022–005. Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve ORDINANCE # 2023-002 – TO AMEND SCHEDULE F OF ORDINANCE 2022–005. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 5-0.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to enter Executive Session for the reason of property purchase and Economic Development, to adjourn afterwards. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 5-0.
- 7:17PM Council entered Executive Session.
- 7:38PM Council ended Executive Session.
