RESOULTION NO.: 2023-005
A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMMUNITY STORM SHELTER
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin, Alabama as follows:
WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin, has solicited competitive bids pursuant to the Public Works Bid Law, for the construction of a community storm shelter; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Berlin resolves to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, according to the special specifications determined and placed on file; and
WHEREAS, the invitation for bids was advertised with the opening date set forth in the bids and the Town of Berlin opened said bids in its Regular Town Council meeting of 17 July, the total bids being as follows:
RemainSafe $197,770.00
Torshel Storm Shelters and Saferooms $148,970.00
Aqua Marine Enterprises, Inc. $123,500.00
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin that Aqua Marine Enterprises, Inc. is determined to be the lowest responsible bidder, the bid amount of One Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand Five Hundred ($123,500.00) and NO/100 Dollars, and that a contract will be awarded to such bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Town of Berlin, that the Mayor is authorized to sign the contract in the name of the Town of Berlin, with the Town Clerk’s attestation to the Mayor’s signature.
