Regular Meeting
- Meeting called to order by Mayor Bates on February 24, 2020 at 7:01 p.m.
- Roll call by Clerk Keirstyn Maxwell. Matthew Blair, not present.
- Mayor called for any public comments, there were none.
- Approval of minutes from February 10, 2020 meeting. Motion to approve by Donald Gunter, second by Don Bates. Approved 5-0.
- Mayor asked for permission to pay February invoices and bond payment. Motion by Don Bates, second by Bud Reed. Approved 5-0.
- Declaration of vacancy for Council Place 3. Council will consider replacements.
- Opening of bids for office trailer. None were received.
- Mayor presented three alternative proposals submitted for used office trailers. Lowest proposal did not meet the minimum square footage requested in the bid.
- Mayor asked for permission to by office trailer from Rose Office Systems, not to exceed $38,000. Motion by Donald Gunter, second by Jimbo Quick. Approved 5-0.
- Discussed Farmers Market rules and regulations.
- Adopted Rules and Regulations for Farmers Market. Motion by Jimbo Quick, second by Donald Gunter. Approved 5-0.
- Discussed site plan for Town Hall.
- Motion to approve purchase of pipe and gravel backfill from Cullman County Road Department. Motion by Donald Gunter, second by Bud Reed. Approved 5-0.
- Discussed acquiring septic quotes for Town Hall.
- Discussed Census event day. Discussed combining Census event day & Berlin Fire Departments 45th Anniversary at the Berlin Community Center.
- Census Event will be March 28,2020 at The Berlin Community Center.
- Mayor presented Ordinance NO.:2020-001 AN ORDINACE NUMBERING COUCIL PLACES.
- Motion to suspend rules and vote on request made by Don Bates, second by Bud Reed.
- Mayor asked for Roll Call Vote: Mayor Bates-Yes, Donald Gunter-Yes, Jimbo Quick-Yes, Don Bates-Yes, Bud Reed-Yes. Approved 5-0.
- Motion to approve Ordinance NO.:2020-001 AN ORDINACE NUMBERING COUCIL PLACES by Donald Gunter, second by Jimbo Quick.
- Mayor asked for Roll Call Vote: Mayor Bates-Yes, Donald Gunter-Yes, Jimbo Quick-Yes, Don Bates-Yes, Bud Reed-Yes. Approved 5-0.
- Mayor presented Ordinance NO.:2020-002 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL ELECTION OFFICERS FOR ABSENTEE BALLOTS.
