Regular Meeting
- Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 7:00 P.M.
- Roll call by Clerk Keirstyn Montgomery. All members present.
- Mayor Patrick Bates asked for public comments, there were none.
- Approval of minutes from May 17, 2021 Regular Meeting. Motion to approve by Jimbo Quick, second by Donald Gunter. Approved 6-0.
- Approval of June invoices. Motion to approve by Donald Gunter, second by Bruce Bentley. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed American Rescue Plan. Motion made by Jimbo Quick authorizing Mayor Patrick Bates to accept fiscal responsibility on funds received from the American Rescue Plan. Second by Don Bates. Approved 6-0.
- Motion to purchase 5, 10.2, 32gb Apple iPads with Apple insurance from Apple in the amount of $1,790.00 with an additional $30/per iPad for purchase of a case made by Keith Hardman, second by Donald Gunter. Approved 6-0.
- Council approved $200.00 in office supplies. Motion made by Keith Hardman, second by Bruce Bentley. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed purchasing flags and flagpole for Berlin Town Hall. Motion to purchase Atlas Series 25ft outdoor flagpole, outdoor Alabama state flag, outdoor American Flag, indoor American flag, indoor Alabama flag, and any additional freight from The United States Flag Store made by Donald Gunter, second by Bruce Bentley. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed drainage issues at County Road 747 & 278.
- Mayor Patrick Bates presented updated quotes for Farmers Market electric. Motion to hire D-1 Electric in the amount of $ 5,600.00 made by Donald Gunter, second by Bruce Bentley. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed Farmers Market Hours. Motion to change hours of Berlin Farmers Market to Saturdays 8:00AM – 12:00 PM with registered growers’ ability to have “pop-up” markets at will, made by Bruce Bentley, second by Jimbo Quick. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed Town Hall hours. Motion to change Town Hall hours to Wednesday -Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM for the duration of the Farmers Market starting the week of July 5, 2021, made by Donald Gunter, second by Keith Hardman. Approved 6-0.
- Motion to adjourn by Donald Gunter, second by Bruce Bentley. Approved 6-0.

- The next meeting of the Berlin Town Council will be July 19, 2021 at the Berlin Town Hall at 7:00 PM.
