MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA
HELD MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2024
The Town Council of the Town of Berlin met in Regular Session on this date and time following publication and posting pursuant to Alabama law.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, November 21, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the Berlin Town Hall.
Invocation – Councilman Donald Gunter.
Pledge of Allegiance – Mayor Patrick Bates.

Public Comments – Edith Stevenson discussed town Christmas decorations.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve the Minutes from October 21, 2024, Regular Meeting. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Approved 6-0.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to hold a Public Hearing regarding Request to Vacate from Bobby and Sherrie Hill to be held at the beginning of the December 2024 Regular Council Meeting . Mayor Patrick Bates-Abstain, Councilman Eudon Bates-Abstain. Approved 4-0.
- Mayor Patrick Bates informed Council of $163 E911 Allocation.
- Mayor Patrick Bates informed Council that he has approved a quote from Grade Tech, LLC for road remediation in the amount of $75,000 for County Roads 1612 & 1614.
- Mayor Patrick Bates gave farmers market update. Councilman James Sanford made motion to surplus existing farmers market building pending an option for another municipality to purchase. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed salary of Mayor and Council.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to reject the invitation from the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce to hold a Cup O’ Coffee event at Town Hall. Second Made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed road frontage at Dollar General.
- Motion to adjourn made by Councilman James Sanford. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 6-0.
- The Town Council of the Town of Berlin adjourned at 7:35 PM.
The next Regular Meeting of the Berlin Town Council will be held December 16, 2024, at the Berlin Town Hall at 7:00 PM.
