MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA
HELD MONDAY, JUNE 17, 2024
The Town Council of the Town of Berlin met in Regular Session on this date and time following publication and posting pursuant to Alabama law.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the Berlin Town Hall.
Invocation – Councilman Donald Gunter.

Public Comments – There were none.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve Minutes from May 20, 2024, Regular Meeting. Second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Approved 5-0.
- Second reading of ORDINANCE NO.: 2024-001 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SCHEDULES A, D, AND R OF ORDINANCE 2022-005 PERTAINING TO BUSINESS LICENSES. Motion to approve made by James Sanford second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Approved 5-0. Roll-Call Vote: Mayor Patrick Bates-Yes, Councilman Donald Gunter-Yes, Councilman James Sanford-Yes, Councilman Don Bates-Yes, Councilman Keith Hardman-Yes. Approved 5-0.
- Mayor Patrick Bates introduced Kalynn Sallee who filled the position of Event Coordinator and Glen Laney as Event Support. Mayor Patrick Bates informed Council that the Town of Berlin is now licensed to hire 14–17-year-olds and is opening the position of Event Support for the Town Community Day Event to hire persons 16+.
- Councilman James Sanford made motion to apply for RC & D Handicap assessable restrooms for the Farmers Market & Park location. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Approved 5-0.
- Council discussed applying for CBDG Grant to redo County Roads 1612 and 1614.
- In other Business, Mayor Patrick Bates presented Council with draft FY2025 Budgets.
- Motion to adjourn made by Councilman James Sanford. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Approved 5-0.
- The Town Council of the Town of Berlin adjourned at 7:15 PM.
The next Regular Meeting of the Berlin Town Council will be July 15, 2024, held at the Berlin Town Hall at 7:00 PM.
