MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF BERLIN, ALABAMA
HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 19, 2024
The Town Council of the Town of Berlin met in Regular Session on this date and time following publication and posting pursuant to Alabama law.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the Berlin Town Hall.
Invocation – Councilman Donald Gunter.

Public Comments – There were none.
- Councilman Keith Hardman made motion to approve Minutes from July 15, 2024, Regular Meeting. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed FY2025 Budget.
- Mayor Patrick Bates presented FY2025 Transportation Plan to Council. Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve RESOLUTION NO. 2024-001 RESOLUTION ADOPTING TRANSPORTATION PLAN PURSUANT TO THE REBUILD ALABAMA ACT. Second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Approved 6-0.
- Mayor Patrick Bates presented amendment the definition for home processed food vendors to the Berlin Farmers Market Rules & Regulations. Councilman James Sanford made motion to approve amendment. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Approved 6-0.
- Councilman Keith Hardman made motion to approve appropriation of $5,000 to the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of new radios. Second made by Councilman James Sanford. Approved 6-0.
- Councilman Keith Hardman made motion to approve appropriation of $475 to the North Alabama Agriplex for the Power of Produce Program (POP). Second made by Councilman James Sanford. Approved 6-0.
- Council discussed park and recreation. Councilman James Sanford made motion to move forward with farmers market, playground, and parking design. Second made by Councilman Tony Duke. Approved 6-0.
- Motion to adjourn made by Councilman James Sanford. Second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Approved 6-0.
- The Town Council of the Town of Berlin adjourned at 7:30 PM.
- The next Regular Meeting of the Berlin Town Council will be September 16, 2024, held at the Berlin Town Hall at 7:00 PM.
