ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2025 – 3:00 P.M.
Berlin Town Hall
The Town Council of the Town of Berlin met in Special Session on this date and time following publication and posting pursuant to Alabama law.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Patrick Bates on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 3:04 P.M. at the Berlin Town Hall.

Public Comments – There were none.
OATHS OF OFFICE:
Town Clerk of the Town of South Vinemont, Kayecea Sasser, administered the Oath of Office to the following elected officials: Mayor: Patrick E. Bates, Council Place #1: Donald Gunter, Council Place #3: Edith Stevenson, Council Place #4: Eudon Bates, Council Place #5: Keith Hardman. All council members present successfully completed their Oaths of Office.
ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO-TEM:
Council discussed Election of Mayor Pro-Tem. Councilwoman Edith Stevenson nominated Councilman Keith Hardman for the position of Mayor Pro-Tem. No other nominations were made. Councilwoman Edith Stevenson made a motion to approve Resolution # 2025-0013 A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Berlin, Alabama, Appointing A Mayor Pro Tem, and elect Councilman Keith Hardman as Mayor Pro-Tem. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Roll-Call Vote: Mayor Patrick Bates-Yes, Councilman Donald Gunter-Yes, Councilwoman Edith Stevenson-Yes, Councilman Don Bates-Yes, Councilman Keith Hardman-Yes. Approved 5-0.
APPOINTMENT OF TOWN CLERK/TREASURER:
Council discussed appointment of Town Clerk/Treasurer. Councilman Keith Hardman nominated Keirstyn Montgomery for the position of Town Clerk/Treasurer. No other nominations were made. Councilman Keith Hardman made a motion to approve Resolution # 2025-014 – A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Berlin, Alabama Appointing the Town Clerk and appoint Keirstyn Montgomery as Town Clerk/Treasurer. Second made by Councilman Donald Gunter. Roll-Call Vote: Mayor Patrick Bates-Yes, Councilman Donald Gunter-Yes, Councilwoman Edith Stevenson-Yes, Councilman Don Bates-Yes, Councilman Keith Hardman-Yes. Approved 5-0.

Councilman Donald Gunter made a motion to approve Resolution # 2025-015 – A Resolution Designating Depositories for Various Funds of the Town of Berlin, Alabama. Second made by Councilman Keith Hardman. Roll-Call Vote: Mayor Patrick Bates-Yes, Councilman Donald Gunter-Yes, Councilwoman Edith Stevenson-Yes, Councilman Don Bates-Yes, Councilman Keith Hardman-Yes. Approved 5-0.
